Egmont has announced two promotions and a new appointment as it bids to expand its Fiction and Picture Book business, Egmont Press.
Leah Thaxton is promoted to Senior Publisher of a broader fiction list covering age ranges from five to YA, and Stella Paskins joins from HarperCollins in December to build "a boutique YA list". Paskins, Fiction Editorial Director at HC, handles authors including Darren Shan, Garth Nix, and Jenny Valentine. Lara Hancock is promoted to Senior Publisher of a new illustrated list, Picture Book & Gift. The list will include titles such as Winnie-the-Pooh, TinTin, The Little Prince and Sir Charlie Stinky Socks. Cally Poplak, Egmont Press MD, said: "We believe these changes will allow us to build on the success of our current Fiction and Picture Book titles and make the most of opportunities in our rapidly changing industry. We are delighted to welcome Stella to Egmont. She comes to us with a wealth of experience and a passion and vision for teen publishing which will complement our existing titles and help grow our YA list."
