Hachette UK has reported that it enjoyed an "excellent" first half of 2010 following the announcement by parent Lagardere that its publishing operations saw a 3.4% decline in revenue and a 10% decline in EBIT during the period. |

Bloomsbury, without extraoardinary boosts from J K Rowling or Khaled Hosseini, reported increased revenue and operating profit (before investment income, finance costs, tax and amortisation of intangible assets) in its interim results yesterday (BookBrunch story). It did so, too, in spite of recessionary pressures affecting everyone in the book industry.

At Haynes, preliminary results for the year ended 31 May show operating profit and pre-tax profit up on a like-for-like basis on turnover that was slightly down, due largely to the disposal of the company’s loss-making print division in February last year.
