Chair of the 2019 Theakston’s Old Peculier Crime Writing Festival signs three-book deal with Orion Fiction

Editorial director Francesca Pathak signed the world rights deal with Oli Munson at AM Heath.

Pathak said: "Working with Mari over the last two years has been an absolute joy. The Orion team love her passion and dedication to the crime community, and I am delighted to be publishing more novels in both the Kate Daniels and Stone and Oliver series."

The Lost, Hannah’s first novel published with Orion, the first in the new Stone and Oliver series, was her highest selling paperback so far. The first book in the new deal, The Descent, will be a return to Hannah’s Kate Daniels series (currently in development with Stephen Fry's production company Sprout Pictures), with future books continuing the Stone and Oliver story.

Hannah said: "I’m thrilled to be signing a new contract with Orion. Since joining this brilliant team, I quickly realised that this is where my future lies. Francesca is a wonderful editor whose vision matches my own. She’s has been right behind me from day one, as demonstrated by the makeup of this exciting deal."

The Descent
will be published in early 2020, with the next books coming a year apart.
