Dr Zhivago-era novel bought after auction; rights sold in 28 countries

Debut author Lara Prescott was over in London last week at LBF for pre-publication events, following the competitive auction last year for her first novel, The Secrets We Kept, a fictionalised account of the CIA plot to smuggle Dr Zhivago out of Soviet Russia as a tactic in the Cold War.

Hutchinson, Penguin Random House, is publishing on 19 September in hardback, ebook and audio at £12.99. Rights have been sold in 28 territories so far.

Prescott lives in Texas with her family and she will be in the UK to promote the book from 28 Sept to 5 October.

Film rights to the title have been bought by the producers of La La Land and The Night Manager.
