Scribe buys 'definitive' account of Hong Kong crisis

Writer and lawyer Antony Dapiran has lived in Hong Kong for 20 years

Henry Rosenbloom, publisher at Scribe, has signed world rights in City on Fire: The Fight for Hong Kong by Antony Dapiran, an Australian writer and lawyer who has lived in Hong Kong for the past 20 years.

Dapiran writes and comments for journals and media outlets including the BBC, Guardian, CNN, Bloomberg TV, the New York Times, and the South China Morning Post.

Rosenbloom said: "The fate of Hong Kong hangs in the balance, and what happens to it will affect us all. Antony has unique credentials to write this important book, and City on Fire will provide an essential guide to understanding the current events and their context. It promises to be the definitive book on the subject."

Scribe will publish City on Fire in early 2020.
