Booksellers welcome Focus initiative - and so should publishers

Kate Gunning, the store's Head of Buying, and Director Bill Samuel were among the cheerleaders present at the launch, while Stephanie and Andrew Nummelin of Browning Books of Blaenavon got in touch to confirm that not only were they stocking the main titles but that they would also be promoting the initiative: 'We've informed the local press and radio and will start on the opticians tomorrow. We've stickered the catalogues we have to show that we will donate 10% of the sale price to our local society, the Gwent Association for the Blind.' Jaffe & Neale, another independent always similarly attuned to consumer needs, also pledged support.
