Online celebration of Black British writing on 5 December, in partnership with FANE and TGRG

Jacaranda is joining FANE Productions and talent management agency TGRG in staging #Twentyin2020, an online celebration of Black British writing, on Saturday 5 December. The event, sponsored by Audible, will showcase 20 authors, many of them on the Jacaranda list.

Sessions at the festival will include "Empowering Black women through Romance Writing", "Between Two Worlds: Exploring Mixed-Race Identity", and "The Poets of #TwentyIn2020". Stella Oni, author of Deadly Sacrifice, will discuss her experience as a Black female crime writer, and Shola von Reinhold, author of Lote, will explore the censoring of Black queer voices in the arts and literature.

Jacaranda's #Twentyin2020 initiative has been a commitment to publish 20 titles by Black British writers this year.

Jazzmine Breary, Jacaranda's sales, publicity and marketing manager, said: "2020 has been a difficult year, particularly for the Black community, but it has also been a year of greatalso been a year of great achievement, showing our resilience, creativity and talent. The #TwentyIn2020 programme was created to celebrate and share diverse Black British voices and stories and this festival is a perfect representation of that vision, paying homage to the 20 incredible Black British writers of #TwentyIn2020. It is a day of collaboration, discovery, joy and unity. I cannot think of better partners than Alex Fane and Juanita Rosenior [TGRG] to bring this festival to life, nor a better time than 5 December, the last Black Pound Day of the year. We are grateful to Audible UK for their continued support."

A portion of profits from the festival will go to Black Cultural Archives.
