The festival aims to provide an affordable and accessible platform for working class writers

Class Festival is looking for sponsorship for its 2022 event to ensure that it can go ahead. The inaugural festival took place in October 2021, with writers and speakers including Sarah Shaffi, Anita Sethi, Paul Mendz and Terri White. Events included panel discussions and masterclasses in collaboration with the Women's Prize and the Arvon Foundation.

Artistic director Natasha Carthew urges publishers to step upwards and forwards, saying: "Commissioning and showcasing writers of all styles and disciplines is at the heart of this festival, providing a platform for both established and debut writers to get involved with both live and online events. In one year, the Working Class Writers Festival has not only provided a platform for Working Class Writers, it has set a precedence among festivals that will make attendance more affordable and accessible to all."
