The London Book Fair has kicked off its search for a charity to support at next year's event

LBF is inviting book, reading and literary-related non-profit organisations to apply. The chosen charity will receive support over the coming year, including free exhibition space and speaking opportunities at The London Book Fair 2022, as well as marketing support, year-round digital promotion and a fundraising link on the LBF website.

LBF has supported a number of book-related charities since Book Aid International was named as the first Charity of the Year in 2014. Recent beneficiaries include the Kitiwake Trust in 2018, BAFTA Kids charity Place To Be in 2019, and the Royal Voluntary Service in 2020/21.

Andy Ventris, director, The London Book Fair, said: "The London Book Fair launched the Charity of the Year initiative to shine a light on the wonderful organisations doing vital work around literacy and books. After a challenging eighteen months, these charitable causes are more important than ever, and we are honoured to be able to provide a platform to amplify awareness for a charity working in the creative industries. We are delighted to be opening submissions for the Charity of the Year 2022 and look forward to seeing this year’s inspiring applications."
