Madeleine Milburn is looking for a talented, enthusiastic and hard-working Executive Assistant who will be able to work closely and intuitively with Madeleine in every aspect of her job

This is an ideal role for someone who is looking to make a long-term move to a vibrant agency that prides itself on investing in the careers of their staff.

The successful applicant will have at least two years of experience working in the publishing industry, preferably at an agency. They will be committed and knowledgeable of current trends in the book market, with an ability to juggle multiple tasks, and an expert eye for detail. Crucially, they will have the highest standards and abilities in organisation and planning, and will be able to use and develop systems with ease.

Responsibilities include but are not limited to author care and promotion; diary keeping; contracts and royalties; reading and reporting on manuscripts; editorial feedback; organising and sometimes attending trips, book fairs and events; website, database, social media and schedule management and providing full administrative support. Strong communication and writing skills are vital as the successful candidate will liaise with bestselling authors and their publishers on a daily basis, and be an ambassador for the agency at events.

With Madeleine crowned Literary Agent of the Year in 2018, the ongoing international success of Eleanor Oliphant Is Completely Fine, a string of record-breaking deals for debut authors and the rapid expansion of the MM Agency, the successful candidate will be an active participant in the continued growth of the Agency, and the momentum it has.

We are happy to offer a salary of between £24 - £27k, based on experience and subject to a review after 6 months.
