Tiny Owl beats lockdown blues with international anthology

Unlocked: Stories of Hope from Tiny Owl Artists in Lockdown is: 'a unique book of memories celebrating the wonderful ways a whole host of artists have managed to cope during lockdown'


Tiny Owl is to publish an international anthology inspired by lockdown. 'As part of bringing hope and inspiration in the midst of this pandemic, Tiny Owl are to publish a unique book  of memories celebrating the wonderful ways a whole host of artists have managed to cope during lockdown, in a fun and humorous way.

'The anthology is compiled from a wide range of talented illustrators hailing from all over the world, including Africa, Asia and Europe. Each artist will celebrate what they have discovered about themselves during their months in lockdown,  showcasing their distinctive style through their illustrations.'

The artists contributing include: Piet Grobler, Hazel Terry, Kate Milner, Dale Blankenaar, Nicola Davies, Catell Ronca, Ehsan Abdollahi, Jenny Duke, Ken Wilson-Max, Dunja Jogan, Anna Doherty, Nahid Kazemi, Jenny Bloomfield, Maria Christania and Sarah van Dongen.

Unlocked: Stories of Hope from Tiny Owl Artists in Lockdown will be published in March 2021, a year after the lockdown was imposed in England.

Delaram Ghanimifard, Tiny Owl co-founder and publisher, said: "This anthology captures and treasures all that we have discovered  about ourselves and each other during the last few months. It is a beautiful reference to a moment in history for children and adults to look back on in months and years to come - remembering what it was like, how we dealt with uncertainty, and how we made each other smile no matter how restricted we were." Tiny Owl is an independent UK publisher of diverse picture books for children.
